My friend reached out to me last Saturday afternoon and asked, “do you want to head down to the Golden Knights rally?” I knew it would be a mob scene and parking would be a nightmare so I emphatically said YES!
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate a huge win for Las Vegas, the city I’ve called home for 21 years. When I moved here in 2002, any talk of bringing a professional sports team was immediately squashed by the reasoning that there’s no community to support a professional sports team in Las Vegas.
Thanks to the efforts of Bill Foley in creating the Vegas-born team and the players who immersed themselves in our community, the Vegas Golden Knights proved them all wrong.
