How did you get involved with the work that you do?
After resigning from my first career in 2011 as the Director of Advising for the Honors College, and being a stay-at-home mom for a few years, I returned to the world of work in 2014 and began my journey as a Financial Advisor.
After major burnout, failure, and an overall career crisis, I switched gears in 2016 to launch my company where we are full-time money coaches and mentors for women.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I love teaching women how to elevate their lives with their money. I love teaching, training, and the relationships I’ve built with my clients, the community, and my team.
Can you tell us about your book?
I wrote my book as a call-to-action to women to take on their financial lives. This is an area that a lot of women spend a lot of time AVOIDING.
I aim to be a voice in the industry that keeps money on the lighter side, helps women integrate fun with practicality, and gives women permission to become not only the leaders in their lives financially, but across the board.
What is The Real Money podcast?
Real Money has been a vision of mine for years now. This Radio Show/Podcast is for all of the women out there who feel like they can’t relate to people in the money industry. I’m on a mission to make money relatable by telling stories of how women are conquering their most difficult financial challenges.
When I was a beginner in the money industry, none of the terms, language or “rules” really made sense to me. Real Money keeps money simple, and by sharing real stories of everyday women in America, I believe we will elevate the consciousness of money for women everywhere.
What does your team like about working in a collaborative workspace?
We love being able to work together, see each other, and be around other awesome businesses and business owners. We love the energy of The Coop and we love having access to the facilities so that we aren’t all confined to our homes. It’s a happy and calm space for us to create and we love it!
What’s your favorite local restaurant?
Surang’s Thai Kitchen on Fort Apache and Russell.
What do you like to do for fun in your free time?
I have two boys, ages 12 and 14. Family is my top priority. When I’m not working, I’m at home with my husband, kids, and 3 dogs. My parents, brother, and sister also live in Vegas. We spend a lot of time with their cousins – I have 4 nephews – lots of boys!
Where is your favorite place to be in Las Vegas?
Home. Henderson. Outdoors. The Pittman Wash. Anywhere I can take in the mountains and fresh air.
